poetry

There are secrets
that cannot be told,

whose reason cannot
be explained,

whose signs cannot
be disclosed,

but within the lines
of poetry.

  1. This is precisely what I have been trying to point to, myself. However, my own art takes the guise of Wittgensteinian puzzles. What strikes me as particularly strange is that the possibility exists that there are even secrets which no art can speak. It seems to me that it is these secrets that are likely to be that which distinguishes one person from another.

On the other hand, the secrets of poetry are almost too sublime for my own grasp, so it seems silly to even contemplate a knowledge even more abstruse than poetry.

In any case, I must compliment you, for your eloquence makes me quite jealous.

  2. Perhaps the only thing more abstruse than poetry is the poet, or put another way, we are our own greatest mystery. So, I agree with you Priam'sPride, secrets likely do distinguish us. They are equally as likely to make us one, not ideologically, but essentially.

No need to be jealous, any of my eloquence takes a lot more time than should be necessary. After all, I have taken two years to respond to your comment!
